A Latin American sponge cake soaked in three types of milk and topped with whipped cream.
Ingredients
- 150g all-purpose flour
- 5g baking powder
- 85g butter, softened
- 200g sugar
- 5 large eggs
- 80ml whole milk
- 5ml vanilla extract
- 400ml sweetened condensed milk
- 400ml evaporated milk
- 240ml heavy cream for soaking
- 300ml heavy cream for topping
- 45g powdered sugar
- 5ml vanilla extract for topping
Steps
- Preheat oven to 180°C
- Grease 23x33cm baking dish
- Sift flour and baking powder together
- Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy
- Add eggs one at a time, beating well
- Alternately add flour mixture and milk
- Fold in vanilla extract
- Pour batter into prepared dish
- Bake for 25 minutes until golden
- Cool completely in pan
- Poke holes all over cake with fork
- Mix condensed milk, evaporated milk, and cream
- Pour milk mixture slowly over cake
- Refrigerate for at least 4 hours
- Whip cream with powdered sugar and vanilla
- Spread over cake before serving
