Rich, fudgy chocolate brownies with a crackly top and dense, chewy texture.
Ingredients
- 200g dark chocolate, chopped
- 175g unsalted butter
- 300g granulated sugar
- 3 large eggs
- 5ml vanilla extract
- 120g all-purpose flour
- 30g cocoa powder
- 3g salt
- 150g chocolate chips
Steps
- Preheat oven to 180°C
- Line 20cm square baking pan with parchment paper
- Melt chocolate and butter in double boiler until smooth
- Remove from heat and whisk in sugar
- Let cool slightly
- Beat in eggs one at a time
- Add vanilla extract
- Whisk flour, cocoa powder, and salt in separate bowl
- Fold dry ingredients into chocolate mixture
- Don't overmix
- Fold in chocolate chips
- Pour batter into prepared pan
- Spread evenly with spatula
- Bake 25-30 minutes until toothpick has moist crumbs
- Cool completely in pan before cutting
- Cut into 16 squares
Notes
Don't overbake for fudgy texture. Brownies continue cooking as they cool. Store covered for up to 1 week.
