Rich and creamy beef strips in a savory mushroom and sour cream sauce served over egg noodles.
Ingredients
- 700g beef sirloin, cut into strips
- 300g egg noodles
- 250g mushrooms, sliced
- 1 onion, sliced thin
- 60ml vegetable oil
- 30g all-purpose flour
- 500ml beef broth
- 250ml sour cream
- 15ml Worcestershire sauce
- 30g butter
- 15ml Dijon mustard
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 30g fresh parsley, chopped
Steps
- Season beef strips with salt and pepper
- Heat oil in large skillet over high heat
- Sear beef strips until browned on all sides
- Remove beef and set aside
- Add butter to same pan and sauté onions until soft
- Add mushrooms and cook until golden
- Sprinkle flour over vegetables and stir to coat
- Gradually add beef broth, stirring constantly
- Add Worcestershire sauce and mustard
- Return beef to pan and simmer 10 minutes
- Cook egg noodles according to package directions
- Remove pan from heat and stir in sour cream
- Serve over noodles and garnish with parsley
Notes
Don't boil after adding sour cream to prevent curdling. Tender cuts like sirloin work best for quick cooking.
