Tender spiced chicken in a rich, creamy tomato-based curry sauce.
Ingredients
- 900g boneless chicken thighs, cut into chunks
- 250g Greek yogurt
- 15ml lemon juice
- 10g garam masala
- 5g cumin powder
- 5g coriander powder
- 3g cayenne pepper
- 15g fresh ginger, minced
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 30ml vegetable oil
- 1 large onion, diced
- 400g canned crushed tomatoes
- 200ml heavy cream
- 10g tomato paste
- 5g paprika
- Salt to taste
- Fresh cilantro for garnish
Steps
- Marinate chicken with yogurt, lemon juice, half the spices, ginger, and garlic for 1 hour
- Heat oil in large skillet over medium-high heat
- Cook marinated chicken until browned and cooked through
- Remove chicken and set aside
- Sauté onion in same pan until softened
- Add remaining spices and cook until fragrant
- Stir in tomato paste and cook for 1 minute
- Add crushed tomatoes and simmer for 15 minutes
- Stir in cream and cooked chicken
- Simmer for 10 more minutes until sauce thickens
- Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve with rice
Notes
For authentic flavor, use whole spices and grind them fresh. Adjust spice level to taste.
