Ingredients
- 200g dark chocolate, chopped
- 115g butter
- 200g sugar
- 3 large eggs
- 80g all-purpose flour
- 25g cocoa powder
- 2g salt
- 150g chocolate chips
- 5ml vanilla extract
Steps
- Preheat oven to 180°C
- Line 20cm square pan with parchment paper
- Melt chocolate and butter in double boiler
- Stir until smooth and let cool slightly
- Beat in sugar until combined
- Add eggs one at a time
- Stir in vanilla extract
- Mix flour, cocoa powder, and salt
- Fold dry ingredients into chocolate mixture
- Stir in chocolate chips
- Pour batter into prepared pan
- Spread evenly
- Bake for 25 minutes until toothpick has few moist crumbs
- Cool completely in pan
- Cut into squares
Notes
The secret to perfect brownies is not overbaking them - they should still be slightly underdone in the center when you remove them from the oven.
