Glazed salmon fillets with sweet and savory teriyaki sauce, perfectly caramelized.
Ingredients
- 4 salmon fillets, skin-on
- 60ml soy sauce
- 60ml mirin
- 30ml sake
- 30g brown sugar
- 15g fresh ginger, minced
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 15ml vegetable oil
- 2 green onions, sliced
- 15g sesame seeds
- Steamed rice for serving
- Steamed broccoli for serving
Steps
- Pat salmon fillets dry and season with salt
- Mix soy sauce, mirin, sake, and brown sugar for teriyaki sauce
- Heat oil in large skillet over medium-high heat
- Place salmon skin-side up and cook 4 minutes
- Flip salmon and cook 3 minutes more
- Remove salmon and set aside
- Add ginger and garlic to same pan
- Cook 30 seconds until fragrant
- Add teriyaki sauce and bring to simmer
- Cook 2-3 minutes until thickened
- Return salmon to pan skin-side down
- Spoon sauce over fillets
- Cook 1 minute to glaze
- Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds
- Serve with steamed rice and broccoli
Notes
Don't overcook salmon - it should be slightly pink in center. Save some sauce for serving on the side.
